Signs A Friend Is A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

It's always good to have friends in our lives. Without friends, we wouldn't have a good social life, and a good social life is healthy. However, our social life can also cause us harm if we don't truly know the people we surround ourselves with. We have all heard the saying "Beware of Wolf in Sheep's Clothing." Even if we have heard that a thousand times, it doesn't mean it is easy.

So, how can we tell if the group of friends in our social circle are true friends or if they are wolves in sheep's clothing? Believe me, it isn't easy figuring it out. I have had both in my life, and sometimes figuring it out too late can cause more problems than we want. Below you will find a few signs that can help you identify who is a true friend and who is hiding right in front of us. Look at the picture, can you see the wolf?

Which one am I?

1. Manipulation: They may use tactics such as lying to you even themselves to conceal their true aggressive intentions. They also play innocent, which can make the victim feel unjustified in confronting them.

2. Self-centeredness: They value being right and in the spotlight. No matter what you accomplish, they will try topping it so their accomplishments are better than yours.

3. Lack of Accountability: They may refuse to be held accountable, even when caught in the wrong. They will make excuses as to why it isn't their fault. They will even blame it on you, and make you believe or question yourself.

4. Charisma: They may use charm to win people over. They will know your likes and dislikes so they can get you on their good side. They can also use guilt to win people over.

5. Hypocrisy: They may try to appear better than they are, or believe it's okay to seem dishonest while being honest. They will lie to you and make you believe they are someone completely different than they truly are. They will tell you something you normally don't like or believe in and make it seem like it isn't that bad. They can make you question something that you know 100 percent is a lie.

Remember that when someone is a wolf in sheep's clothing, they will be sweet at the beginning, but over time, they will show their true colors. They are good manipulators and you will find yourself questioning your own judgment. They can lie to your face without flinching. However, even though they are good manipulators, they can only hold the facade for so long. Once they sense that you are catching on, they may try to come up with excuses or make you feel sorry for them. If all else fails, they may become aggressive, blame you, and leave, which can leave you feeling bewildered and unable to confront them.

So, if you're questioning one of your closest friends in your friend or social cycle just remember there is a reason why! We don't start or look for reasons to question our friends. So when it comes up there is something to why you are feeling the way you are.
